To think about " Environment" issue
What do you think about environment? Do you think it is difficult to think? Or do you think it bother you? How do you think it? To think about environment for me, I think it is difficult to think, because I feel there is nothing I can do, but there are something we can do for the environment. There are lots of definitions in the word of “Environment”, such as global environment (Like global worming, deforestation, etc), such as community environment (think about community activation) and so on. In this article, I want to introduce two clubs, which thinks about broad meaning of “Environment”.
Firstly, there are club thinks about community environment. Do you know there is a club called “OI’mO”(pronounce as aimu) in Kanda University? This club thinks about community activation in Makuhari area. As you know, Makuhari new urban area was took place in lots of TV commercial or TV shows that Makuhari area has lots of modish buildings. This club’s aim is to activate Makuhari area more than now. The contents of their activities are list below.
* Introduction of Makuhari galleria.
* Sell goods of Makuhari galleria in events at galleria or in KUIS event.
* Making corroboration goods with Makuhari galleria shop.
There are another project going on in OI’mO. Think about community activate, Makuhari is such a nice place to promote the town where location is close to Tokyo that means it is easy to access. There are lots of fancy shops that gave us interests to buy. Not only those factors, but also Makuhari has lots of community relationship, like OI’mO projects.
Second club is thinks about global climate issues in Kanda University. I also wrote in Hamakaze-festival article, it is the environment club “ecoism”. In this club, they are thinking about many different environmental issues, such as nuclear power plant issue, garbage issue, the way of living with nature, thought of LOHAS (Life style of health and sustainability), etceteras. This kind of environmental issues, I think we have to think more and more in these days. Some islands in Oceania area will sink in near future by influence of global warming. Because of deforestation, there is nothing to provide us oxygen to live on, or there are no place those forests animals live in forest. There are lots of movement of protect environment, for example, Mottainai campaign by Mrs. Wangari Muta Maathai. In urban area, there are lots of organic food restaurant. Kyoto protocol was released to decrease discharge of greenhouse gases. Many people and organization thinks and do some actions against environmental issues. In this club, activities are picks up garbage around the school and Makuhari beach once a month, sell deposit drinks in Hamakaze-festival and so on. As individual activities, many member research different issues like nuclear power plant issue. Go to organic restaurant to feel (eat?) environment is also one member’s activities.
When we think about environment, we got hopeless because the topic is too big to oneself that is so big to solve. Those two clubs thinks about environment in their interest field. Do not put lots of pressure to yourself; you can do your enjoyable action to do for these actions. There is lots of environment; you can find your interest “environment” issue, if you feel something about it, why don’t you take some action?
